One Million Employees Will Dismissed



Cuba announced it would lay off more than one million public sector employees in order to revive the economy. Half of public sector employment is covered in the next six months, or no later than March next year.Those laid off will be encouraged to open their own employment, or to join a private company that is no longer strictly controlled. Analysts say the plan is the biggest change in the private sector since the 1959 revolution.
